DOR U Bolt Upgrade Kit 3rd and 4th Gen
3rd and 4th gen trucks already have a U bolt flip from the factory, however the U bolts are only 9/16" diameter and can use some extra girth, especially when you add aftermarket products that bolt up using the U bolts. Our U bolt upgrade includes 4 new 5/8" diameter Grade 8 U bolts, and our 3/8" U bolt plate. If you just buy larger diameter U bolts and use the stock U bolt plate, you'll have to drill the holes out to accept the larger U bolts. These new plates are stronger and they save you the hassle of drilling the OEM plates.
This U bolt upgrade kit will work with your factory springs or any aftermarket setup, just make sure you order U bolts long enough for your application.
To measure the length you need, you'll need to measure from the bottom of the axle tube, to the top of the leaf spring pack. Add in the height of any other parts that you may be adding, such as lift blocks, traction bar mounts, etc. That length, plus 2.5", is the length you need ideally. You can always get the U bolts a little longer and cut the excess threads off after installing, but you can't do anything with U bolts that are too short.
