This kit is for anyone running one of our bolt-in steering kits who wants to switch from the old tapered chromoly bolts to the newer Grade 8 tapered sleeve setup.  This will include all hardware needed to convert your existing DOR bolt-in steering linkage at the pitman arm and both knuckles.  We will not sell this to anyone who doesn't have one of our steering kits and verification is required before the order will be shipped.  If you ordered from us, we will be able to verify the order.  If you bought the truck or steering kit from someone else, provide the original order info if you're able, or we will reach out to verify with you.   Orders that aren't verified will be canceled.

Kit includes:

1 - pitman arm tapered sleeve upgrade (9/16" Grade 8 bolt, locknut, tapered sleeve, heim sleeve)

2 - knuckle tapered sleeve upgrades (9/16" Grade 8 bolts, locknuts, tapered sleeves, heim sleeves)

You will reuse your heim joints and stainless hardware (safety washers, flat washers, and misalignment spacers).  Grade 8 flat washers are not needed as long as you're using our machined hardware that was included in the steering kit when you purchased it.

The advantages of this upgrade are that you now have commonly-sourced Grade 8 hardware, so if you break the bolts, you can replace them from any hardware store instead of waiting for replacements to ship from us.  Also, switching to Grade 8 bolts allows you to use impact tools rather than tightening all hardware by hand.  Perfect for all of the "mechanics" and auto shops out there who only understand torque values in the number of ugga-duggas their air tools make.   Broken bolts only happen for two reasons - improper torque values, or steering kit is binding up.  So if you are breaking bolts, you still need to correct the root cause of the problem.  This setup just makes it cheaper and easier to replace bolts when you break them.
